Heartsaver First Aid (AHA)
Heartsaver First Aid is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.
This course will cover the following:
First aid basics (including scene safety, finding the problem, calling for help and more) Medical emergencies (including actions for choking, breathing problems, shock and more) Injury emergencies (including actions for bleeding, broken bones, burns and more) Environmental emergencies (including actions for bites and stings, and temperature-related and poison emergencies)
This course will cover the following:

Heartsaver CPR/AED (AHA)
This classroom course teaches basic CPR skills such as performing a head tilt-chin lift and giving compressions and breaths.
The course provides training for anyone who wants to learn basic CPR and obtain a Heartsaver course completion card.
This course will cover the following:
• Key changes reflecting the new science from the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
• Adult CPR and AED use
• Modules in child CPR and AED use and infant CPR, including child and infant choking
• Written test
The course provides training for anyone who wants to learn basic CPR and obtain a Heartsaver course completion card.
This course will cover the following:
• Key changes reflecting the new science from the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
• Adult CPR and AED use
• Modules in child CPR and AED use and infant CPR, including child and infant choking
• Written test
Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid (AHA)
This course is designed to meet the regulatory and credentialed training requirements for child care workers in all 50 states. The course teaches basic first aid, CPR, and AED skills for children.
The course provides training primarily for those who are responsible for children, and for anyone who wants to learn basic pediatric first aid and obtain a Heartsaver course completion card.
This course will cover the following:
• First aid basics
• Medical emergencies
• Injury emergencies
• Environmental emergencies
• Optional pediatric first aid modules are:
- Pediatric first aid topics (eye injuries; fever; suspected abuse; and snake, spider, scorpion, tick and marine animal bites and stings)
- CPR and AED use
- Asthma care training for child care providers
The course provides training primarily for those who are responsible for children, and for anyone who wants to learn basic pediatric first aid and obtain a Heartsaver course completion card.
This course will cover the following:

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.
Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use.
This course will cover the following:
• Key changes reflecting the new science from the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
• First aid basics
• Medical emergencies
• Injury emergencies
• Environmental emergencies
• Adult CPR and AED use
• Child CPR and AED use and infant CPR
• Written test

BLS for Health Care Providers (AHA)
The BLS for Healthcare Providers - Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.
This course will cover the following:
• Key changes in basic life support, reflecting the new science from the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
• Critical concepts of high-quality CPR
• The American Heart Association Chain of Survival
• 1-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant
• 2-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant
• Differences between adult, child and infant rescue techniques
• Bag-mask techniques for adult, child and infant
• Rescue breathing for adult, child and infant
• Relief of choking for adult, child and infant
• CPR with an advanced airway*
* This is an introduction to the compression/ventilation rate and ratio for a patient who has an advanced airway in place. For more information on advanced airways, please refer to the Airway Management Course.
